Marine Science Magnet Schools devote a part of their curriculum to specializing in the marine science and trades.  AIMS is a Partner In Education with North Folk Elementary, New River Middle School, and South Broward High School, the three marine science magnet schools in Broward County, Florida.  The younger students may choose to follow their studies into South Broward High School which offers programs sponsored by AIMS.  We provide marine gear for industrial sciences, boats, and funding for field trips.  The summer programs are especially popular.  They include:

-Funding for a 16 day cruise on the NOAA research vessel "Ronald Brown" from Vancouver, BC to Seattle, Washington
-Snorkeling reef studies to the Dry Tortugas on the Yankee Freedom II.
-Six day cruises on the new University of Miami research catamaran "F.G. Walton Smith"
-Coral reef and beach erosion studies along the Ft. Lauderdale coastline.
-Marine archeological excursions to the prehistoric seas of Wyoming.
-Ecological comparative studies in the Puget Sound and the Olympic Peninsula in Washington.
-Kayaking in the mangroves and bays of the Florida Keys.

Community Service Marine Tech Video Production
AIMS recognizes the need for organizations and individuals to contribute to the well being of the community in which they live. In addition to our "business" of enhancing the marine related education of today's youth, we like to provide the general populace and the under privileged the opportunity to enjoy some of the beauty provided by our marine environment. AIMS employs students from Broward County schools to help restore and maintain boats donated to the Institute.
The students receive good salaries, training and credit from their home school for the
work/study with AIMS.
Practically all of our donated power and sailboats serve as
a classroom for these students.
Interwoven throughout AIMS projects are video recordings of activities. The videos range
in production from simple narratives explaining the layouts of particular vessels to full blown recordings of special events, high seas deliveries, and educational TV programs.
The videos are available to the public and schools.
